Full course description

Physical activity is essential to leading a healthy life and reducing the risk of developing chronic disease and unhealthy weight gain.  This is especially true for women during pregnancy.  Physical activity can have long-term benefits for the mother and child. It can improve quality of life, lessen many discomforts associated with pregnancy, and provide strength and endurance for a better labor and delivery experience.  This course is designed to assist the fitness professional in developing an introductory understanding of a special fitness population, pregnant clients, and to consider the implications that pregnancy has for exercise and physical activity.
