This course explores the relationship between sport turfgrass management and environmental quality, focusing on control strategies that promote sustainability. Topics include best management practices (BMPs), integrated pest management (IPM), soil and water conservation, nutrient management, pesticide regulation, and emerging technologies for environmentally responsible turf management. Students will learn to evaluate the environmental impact of turfgrass management and develop science-based solutions to minimize risks while maintaining high-performance sports turf systems.
